We aim to bring multidisciplinary specialists and patients together to advance understanding about Ehlers Danlos Syndromes and the cluster of comorbid conditions it represents, especially in the hypermobile subtype. These events have helped to raise awareness about Chronic Pain as a symptom of a hereditary condition, as opposed to being viewed as a disease in its own right.

Educational focus is centered on current best evidence from leading Canadian and international specialists while providing healthcare professionals and patients resources to manage symptoms and improve quality of life.

Lifetime of Learning Conference Program

Learning Objectives:

  1. Recognize and identify the illness clusters associated with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD) and other Heritable Connective Tissue Disorders (HCTD); and express compassion and empathy in healthcare delivery to develop patient/physician partnerships for improved quality of life.
  2. Construct a practical approach for office-based screening of individuals with EDS, HSD and HCTD with co-existent conditions of Chiari Malformation, Chronic Pain, Gastrointestinal Dysmotility, Chronic Headache & Migraine, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), Atlanto-Axial Instability, Craniocervical Instability, Tethered Cord Syndrome, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, also known as chronic fatigue syndrome.
  3. Describe the best-evidence-informed approach for management of multi-systemic manifestations in Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and other Heritable Connective Tissue Disorders.
