PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Participants will have the opportunity to review the contents of the widely used Symptom Management Kit. A discussion around symptom control and anticipating decline at end of life will support clinicians comfort in providing end of life care in community. Symptom management in the context of Covid-19 will also be discussed with the support of resources provided by the Ontario Palliative Care Network (OPCN).
OBJECTIVES
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the signs of imminent death
- Proactively prepare medications and supplies for common end-of-life symptoms
- Prepare a family and patient for the final hours and days of life
