Grassy Narrows Living History Forum: Indigenous health justice in the face of mercury poisoning
The Northern Ontario History of Health and Medicine Group links students, faculty, researchers, practitioners, staff and interested individuals from across the North and beyond from a range of disciplines/ professions. It is open to the public.
Elder Juda Da Silva is an award-winning activist and member of Grassy Narrows First Nation. Dr. Donna Mergler is professor emerita in Biological Sciences at the University of Quebec with a research specialization on the long-term effects of mercury poisoning. Dr. Chantelle Richmond (Biigtigong Anishinabe) holds a Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Health and the Environment at Western University.
