Information for Students

Accreditation is a process by which institutions and programs voluntarily undergo an extensive peer evaluation of their compliance with accepted standards for educational quality. Through accreditation, the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) provides assurance to medical students, graduates, the medical profession, healthcare institutions, health authorities, regulatory authorities and the public that:

  • Educational programs culminating in the award of the MD meet reasonable, generally-accepted, and appropriate national standards for educational quality.
  • Graduates of such programs have a complete and valid educational experience sufficient to prepare them for the next stage of their training.

  • NOSM Task Force to Address Learner Mistreatment
  • Updated Surgery Duty Hours Form/Process
  • Mid-Unit Feedback Form/Process

The final Independent Student Analysis (ISA) launched in February 2019. The results of the final ISA will be used to effect change at NOSM. Be sure to have your say!
