Manager, Dietetic Practicum Program – Cara Green, RD, MHS
Working out of NOSM University’s Thunder Bay campus, Cara oversees the academic and administrative leadership for the educational and professional standards of the DPP. She coordinates placements and provides support and mentorship to dietetic practicum learners and preceptors so that graduates meet the entry-level standards for Registered Dietitians.
Dietetic Practicum Lead – Denise Raftis, RD, MEd
Working out of NOSM University’s Sudbury campus, Denise coordinates placements and professional development while providing support, and mentorship to dietetic practicum learners and preceptors so that graduates meet the entry-level standards for Registered Dietitians. Denise is a highly respected and valued dietetic educator and leader. She was the recent recipient of the Dr. Sarita Verma Award for Distinguished Leadership, recognizing her outstanding contributions to dietetic education and training in Northern Ontario.

Health Sciences Program Coordinator – Debbie Popien
Debbie is the Health Sciences Program Coordinator at NOSM University, based at the Thunder Bay campus. She brings a strong background in program coordination and administrative support across academic, healthcare, and public sector environments, with a focus on supporting education and partnerships across Northern Ontario. As a lifelong resident of the region, Debbie is committed to supporting learners and preceptors and advancing access to health services in northern, rural, and remote communities.
Health Sciences Administrative Assistant – Dana Walsh
Dana is the Health Sciences Administrative Assistant and is working out of NOSM University’s Thunder Bay campus. Dana’s experience in administrative support has encompassed a variety of settings, including postsecondary education, clinical research, and Indigenous health research. As a lifelong resident of Northern Ontario Dana is passionate about supporting learners and preceptors, as part of NOSM U’s larger mandate to improve health across the region.
