Northeastern Ontario Palliative Care Conference

March 27, 2026 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. EST

Welcome to the Northeastern Ontario Palliative Care Conference 2026! This year, we bring you a bigger and better hybrid conference, as a result of the collaboration between the NOSM University Palliative Care SPC, NNPCN-PCIEF Nipissing sub-region and CERAH (The Centre for Education and Research on Aging & Health)

This year’s conference includes dynamic Keynote speaker Sandy El-Bitar, a NOSM Learner literature review, an update from Ontario Health, lightning talks chosen from abstract submissions, three afternoon streams with something for everyone, from primary level care, specialty level care and psychosocial topics and the day will end with a panel discussion with regional experts!

Conference Learning Objectives:

  1. Discuss the evolving role of palliative care and key advocacy priorities in promoting equitable, person-centred care.
  2. Examine interprofessional strategies and innovative approaches that strengthen collaboration, improve access, and enhance the quality of palliative care, particularly in rural and remote contexts.
  3. Identify opportunities and challenges in advancing palliative care across diverse care settings and regions.
