Faculty Position – Human Anatomy

NOSM University invites applications for a tenure track Faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor.

The successful candidate must hold a PhD in human anatomy or a related field.  Candidates must also have experience in teaching human anatomy and have demonstrated innovative teaching methods that enhance student learning.

The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating and delivering human anatomy education, should have cadaveric (dissection) experience, and have good knowledge of histology.  The appointment is primarily at the undergraduate medical student level but will also support anatomy curriculum across different programs at NOSM University.

The position will involve working with a team of anatomy instructors and laboratory assistants at the two NOSM University campuses.  The candidate is expected to participate in educational scholarly activities that enhance the scope of their teaching and research abilities.  Research and publications in anatomy would be an important asset.

The applicant must have shown evidence of the ability to teach at the university level and will be expected to contribute to the design of the curriculum at the University. The incumbent will also be expected to contribute to the governance of the Medical Sciences Division and the University.

The successful applicant will be appointed in the Medical Sciences Division and based at the NOSM University Sudbury campus but will be expected to routinely engage in activities at the Thunder Bay campus.

Appointment begins July 1, 2024 or as negotiated. Remuneration is competitive and will be based on qualifications and experience.
