Provost and Vice President, Academic
Céline Larivière (PhD) is NOSM University’s inaugural Provost and Vice-President Academic. Since February 1, 2023, she has served as the Chief Academic Officer of the University and is responsible for institutional planning and academic administration of all education programs, academics, learner support services, senate and related governance committees. She also leads the conceptualization, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of academic programs and services. She has 25 years of experience as an administrative and educational leader in the higher education sector having served as the Dean of the Faculty of Education and Health at Laurentian University. She has conducted research focused on occupational health and safety and exercise as medicine. Her teaching expertise is in human physiology, and she has taught courses in human growth and development, sport injury management as well as exercise science and wellness. Over the years, she has mentored numerous undergraduate and graduate students many of whom have gone on to pursue successful careers in rehabilitation sciences, medicine and research. Dr. Larivière is collaborating with medical and health sciences educators, researchers and leaders to achieve health equity for Northern Ontario rural, remote, Indigenous and Francophone communities and beyond.
