NOSM Board of Directors Holds Regular Meeting

Using a combination of video- and tele-conference connectivity across Northern Ontario, the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) held a regular meeting of the Board of Directors on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. Members of the Board received a presentation on the School's upcoming MD program Accreditation Site Visit on March 18-21, 2012 from NOSM's Director of Equity and Quality, Kate Beatty. Collaboration Explores Prevention of Infectious Diseases in Aboriginal Communities

Researchers from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine are working to create vaccines that could prevent the spread of two infectious diseases among Aboriginal populations across country, and particularly in Northern Ontario. Working alongside the National Research Council (NRC) and the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), researchers hope to develop a vaccine for the potentially fatal Haemophilus Influenzae Type A and Helicobacter pylori infection. NOSM Faculty, Board Ratify Four Year Collective Agreement

The Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) and the NOSM faculty Union (Unit 1 of OPSEU Local 677) are pleased to announce the ratification of their third collective agreement, covering full time faculty, professional librarians, and professional staff at the School. The faculty Union’s Members voted in favour of the new collective agreement on November 28, and the agreement was ratified by NOSM’s Board of Directors on December 2.
