Dr. Elaine Hogard, Professor of Program Evaluation in the Human Sciences Division and Director of UME Assessment at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, was presented with a copy of Handbook of Quality Assurance for University Teaching by the Society for Research in Higher Education (SRHE) while at the book’s launch last week in London, England. The book was presented by Senior Officers of the SRHE, Rob Gresham and Franco Carta. The launch was attended by contributors and leading figures in Higher Education. Indigenous Health Research
Three NOSM faculty members have contributed to the recently published Indigenous Research: Theories, Practices and Relationships. This edited collection provides readers with concrete and in-depth examples of how to overcome the challenges of Indigenous research with respect to Indigenous worldviews, epistemologies and ontology. In collaboration with their communities, and with guidance from Elders and other traditional knowledge keepers, each contributor links their personal narrative of Indigenous research to current discussions and debates. Sustainable Physician Workforce Building
In keeping with NOSM’s mission to improve the supply of physicians in Northern Ontario, the School partnered with the North West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN), the North East LHIN and HealthForceOntario (HFO) Marketing and Recruitment Agency to host Summit North: Building a Flourishing Physician Workforce.
