Our Residents

 

Dr. Aly Balbaa

Dr. Aly Balbaa grew up in Mississauga, Ontario, and completed his undergraduate degree in Medical Sciences and medical school at Western University. He went on to do Family Medicine residency at McMaster’s Brantford site, and Dr. Balbaa is excited to be joining the CCFP-EM program at NOSM! His interests include point-of-care ultrasound and medical education, and he hopes to practice in a community emergency department while being involved in teaching. Outside of medicine, Dr. Balbaa enjoys swimming, hiking, and throwing clay pots on the pottery wheel.

Dr. Eric Stokes

Dr. Eric Stokes grew up in Sudbury, completed medical school at NOSM U in Sudbury, then trained in Collingwood for Family Medicine through McMaster University’s rural program. His interests include rural Emergency Medicine, trauma, and traumatic airway management. Dr. Stokes enjoy time outdoors, motorcycles, music, and spending time with friends and family.

 Dr. Jeremy Lamothe

Dr. Jeremy Lamothe completed his medical training at NOSM U and also holds a PhD in Biomolecular Science from Laurentian University. His clinical interests in Emergency Medicine include trauma and rural medicine, and he hopes to practice in a tertiary care center in Northwestern Ontario. Outside of medicine, Jeremy enjoys woodworking as well as hiking, fishing, and hunting.

Dr. Samantha Lyons

Dr. Samantha Lyons grew up in Southwestern Ontario. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Ottawa, which included a semester abroad in Norway, and then went on to study medicine in Ireland. Most recently, she completed her Family Medicine residency at Queen’s University. Dr. Lyons is especially interested in rural medicine and looks forward to practicing a mix of emergency and family medicine. Outside of work, she enjoys camping, travelling, playing sports, and is always happy to stop and pet a dog.
