NOSM Board Holds Face-to-Face Meeting in Sudbury

Exemplary Learners, Faculty and Preceptors Recognized by NOSM Board  The Board of Directors of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) held a face-to-face meeting in Sudbury on November 29 and 30, 2012. On the first day of the two-day meeting, Board members were provided a tour of the Shkagamik-Kwe Health Centre led by the Centre's Executive Director and past NOSM Board member, Ms. Angela Recollet and Centre staff members. First Response Addressing Health Emergencies in Remote Aboriginal Community

Counter to a tide of reports on health crises in remote First Nations communities, one isolated Ontario community is partnering with Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) researchers to develop the skills and resilience to manage health emergencies locally. The Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) is pleased to announce the appointments of Dr. Douglas Boreham as Division Head of Medical Sciences and Dr. Elizabeth Levin as Division Head of Human Sciences, effective September 1, 2012. Dr. Douglas Boreham comes to NOSM from McMaster University, where he is a Professor in the Department of Radiation and Applied Radiation Sciences.
