One of these opportunities is the Mini Rural & Remote Medicine Conference in October 2026, taking place this year in Thunder Bay. This unique gathering brings together physicians, learners, and healthcare teams who are deeply committed to rural practice. Through hands-on learning, mentorship, and meaningful connections—especially with physicians serving Northern Ontario—learners gain real-world insight, confidence, and a sense of belonging within the rural medical community.

For many learners, cost is a barrier. Travel, accommodation, and registration can total approximately $2,000—making experiences like this out of reach without support.
