“Innovative Education and Research for a Healthier North”

This unique mandate represents the opportunity to continue to build an institution that has become a world leader in distributed, community-engaged and socially accountable medical education.

Staying true to its mandate of improving the health of Northern Ontario’s people and communities, the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) has dramatically change its region’s health care landscape, and has also significantly contributed to strengthening the North’s social and economic fabric.

Across Northern Ontario, learners gain relevant clinical experience under the guidance of health professionals in community hospitals, clinics, and family practices.  The School brings together more than 1,400 faculty members and 200 employees to deliver Innovative education and research for a healthier North.

NOSM’s two major campuses are in the Ontario cities of Sudbury and Thunder Bay.
