Program Overview & Highlights
Program Overview
The Emergency Medicine Residency Program is five years in duration that involves multiple training sites. Residents are assessed on an ongoing basis by means of direct observation, daily shift assessments, the annual national in-training exam and regular written and oral exams. Each resident meets with an academic advisor to review their progress on a regular basis.
At NOSM University, our Royal College Emergency Medicine (EM) residency program offers a rich and rigorous training experience designed to prepare you for the full scope of EM practice—from rural community hospitals to high-acuity trauma centers.
