NOSM University relaunches International MD Electives Program

NOSM University is proud to announce its International MD Electives Program will relaunch on June 1, 2024. The program invites students enrolled at medical schools outside Canada to apply for clinical elective placements beginning in February 2025 through NOSM University. This program offers medical students a hands-on learning experience working alongside skilled clinicians in diverse Northern settings, including rural and remote communities, urban centres, and Indigenous and Francophone communities. Dr. Gautam Kumar named NOSM University’s new Program Director of Pediatrics

Dr. Gautam Kumar is the incoming Program Director, Pediatric Residency Program at NOSM University effective July 1, 2024.  A consultant pediatrician who has been practicing in Sudbury for the last 14 years, Dr. Kumar is a graduate of the University of Ottawa's Pediatric Residency and MD programs.   Dr. Kumar has held the position of Chief of Pediatrics at Health Sciences North since 2019. He has been an Assistant Professor at NOSM University since 2010.
