Event Date : 2019-09-25
Time : 07:00 PM - 08:00 PM
Location : THUNDER BAY—Superior C.V.I.

In recognition of Rowan’s Day, the Continuing Education and Professional Development Office (CEPD) at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, the Lakehead School Board and the Thunder Bay Catholic School Board invite coaches, parents, teachers and athletes involved in any recreational sport or play where head injury is a risk, to a public education event on concussions.

Participants will learn about concussion prevention, the signs of concussion, when to seek medical attention and steps to return to school and sport. Dr. Dave McKee, the lead physician for the Lakehead University varsity athletes and team doctor will present. Hear personal stories from athletes and their personal experiences with concussion.

Please join us for this free event, hosted by NOSM, with the endorsement of the Lakehead School Board the Thunder Bay Catholic School Board and Lakehead University. We encourage teams to use this as a practice opportunity, to raise whole team awareness about concussion and gain some knowledge that will help your understanding of Concussion Code of Conduct. Instead of being on the ice, the field, the mats, or in the pool, bring your team to this session!

Please feel free to contact us with any questions at 807-766-7459.
