Reporting to the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Medical Education, and responsible to the Undergraduate Medical Education Committee (UMEC), the Student Assessment and Promotion Committee (SAPC) Chair (or Co-Chairs) is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of student assessment regulations, policies and procedures and the UME Appeals Policy for the NOSM MD program.

Responsabilités

  1. Chair SAPC;
  2. Develop relevant documents and processes;
  3. Liaise with faculty and student on relevant matters;
  4. Oversee appeals;
  5. Represent the SAPC on appropriate bodies;
  6. Report to the Associate Dean of UME in their role.

Qualifications

Éducation

  • MD or PhD or equivalent in health or education field.

Connaissances, Compétences et Capacités

  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a leadership position is required.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a leadership role within a committee is required.
  • Experience of developing, managing and implementing academic policies and procedures is required
  • Experience of assessment systems and processes in a medical school environment is an asset
  • Experience in developing, managing and implementing medical school curriculum in an accredited medical school is an asset
  • Evidence of strong leadership and decision making skills is required.
  • Evidence of superior communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English is required.
  • Ability to communicate in French would be a considerable asset.
  • Ability to communicate in Ojibway and/or Cree would be a considerable asset.
  • Evidence of ability to be an effective team player and team leader is required.
  • Knowledge of progressive approaches to leading change, problem-solving and conflict resolution is required.
