Andrew Austin
Andrew is a full-time Research Associate with the Centre for Social Accountability working primarily with NORTHH (the NOSM University Research Toward Health Hub—a practice-based research network for primary health-care providers) focusing on Data Analytics, Ethics and Artificial Intelligence. He recently graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Information with a dual concentration in Human-Centered Data Science and Information Systems & Design and previously received his Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Lakehead University with a focus on Management Information Systems. He is particularly interested in the ethical implications of data and how we can better serve our community by analysing the data taking into account all user groups that can be affected by our decision making. When Andrew isn’t working he enjoys playing various sports such as hockey, soccer, basketball and snowboarding in the winter in Thunder Bay
