For Current Students
NOSM is committed to graduating health professionals who have the knowledge, skills, competencies, and humility to provide care adapted to the needs of Northern, rural, and remote communities.
NOSM students can find here the support and resources they need in order to be successful in their careers and while learning in a culture of wellness.
Welcome to NOSM! Your first few days and the next four years here at NOSM will likely be an exciting time with much learning, many new experiences, new friendships and likely new challenges. We in the Learner Affairs Offices on the Lakehead and Laurentian Campuses wish you well as you begin this new endeavor. As well, we want you to be aware that we are here to support you throughout this time to help ensure your success. Remember that you cannot take care of others unless you take the time to take care of yourselves first.
I wish you all the best throughout this orientation week and the next four years. Remember that we are just an email, phone call or door knock away.

Orientation Week Survey
The Oweek Survey has now closed. Thank you to everyone for completing the survey.
The information collected on the survey will assist us with Oweek planning, and will assist the Student Orientation Working Committee (SOWC) to match you with a second year student for the Buddy Program. Each year the SOWC pair up a first and second year student to help support the transition to medical school and navigate any questions and concerns incoming students may have. The information collected via the survey will be kept confidential. Please note: only the Buddy Program portion of the survey will be shared with the SOWC.
Orientation Week Schedule
The 2019 Orientation Week (Oweek) Schedule is still in the process of being finalized. However, we are posting the most recent draft version to give you a better idea of what to expect throughout the week. Please note this is not the final version, and the schedule is subject to change at this point.
Once the final version is posted, we suggest you keep a copy of the itinerary handy on your phone, or print yourself a copy so you can refer to it throughout the week.
We look forward to seeing you during Oweek! Enjoy your summer!
