At Rendez-Vous 2012, delegates had more than 400
presentations to choose from (including oral, poster, workshop,
Personally Arranged Learning Session [PeArLS], and “Off the Wall”
presentations). Oral presentations were 15 minutes in duration and
allowed for 10 minutes of content presentation, followed by five minutes
of interactive questioning and comments. The oral presentations
highlighted scholarly work in medical and health professional education,
service, and research.
Through interactive and engaging conversations, workshops were
available at varying lengths of 90 minutes, half day, and full day.
Workshops were intended to deliver core content followed by small group
discussions stimulating discussions and questions, and reflection.
Workshops identified key learning outcomes and assisted conference
delegates in self-assessing what they may have known about the content
topics, what they did not know, and what they learned by attending the
