NOSM Associate Dean, Postgraduate Education Reappointed for Second Five-Year Term
The Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) is pleased to announce the reappointment of Dr. Catherine Cervin as NOSM’s Associate Dean of Postgraduate Education (PGE) for a second five-year term, effective September 2016.
NOSM’s Postgraduate Education Office is responsible for the oversight, administration and support of all Postgraduate Residency Programs in Northern Ontario. NOSM offers Residency Programs in: Family Medicine and Family Medicine Enhanced Skills in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice Anesthesia, Maternity Care, and Care of the Elderly. Royal College Accredited Programs include Public Health and Preventative Medicine, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Psychiatry, Anesthesiology. As well there is a Northern Stream of the Ottawa Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program

Philanthropy is defined as “the love of humankind,” and National Philanthropy Day—November 15—is the day that thousands of people around the world come together to recognize the great contributions of philanthropy, and those people active in the philanthropic community, to the enrichment of our world. Today, the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) says thank you, merci, and miigwetch to our many donors, volunteers, organizations, communities, leaders, and others engaged in philanthropy. L'École de médecine du Nord de l'Ontario ainsi que son Groupe consultatif francophone est fière d'annoncer que la vice-présidente de son Groupe consultatif francophone, Mme Claudette Gleeson, a reçu le Prix Florent-Lalonde pour son travail de bénévole au sein de la communauté francophone du Nord-Ouest de l'Ontario de l'Assemblée de la francophonie dans le cadre du Grand rassemblement annuel 2015 tenu à Toronto les 22-24 octobre 2015.
NOSM Recognizes Annual Family Doctor Week in Canada
The Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) and the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) proudly acknowledges the outstanding contributions of Canadian family physicians for their dedication to their patients and the delivery of high-quality health care. Family Doctor Week in Canada is celebrated from November 9-14, which coincides with the annual Family Medicine Forum from November 11-14 in Toronto, Ontario. NOSM encourages everyone to celebrate family physicians for their hard work and dedication towards better health for families and communities. NOSM thanks family physicians across Northern Ontario for their dedication to training the physicians and health-care professionals of the future.
