NOSM Family Medicine Residency Training 

The NOSM Family Medicine program participates in the R-1 Main Residency Match through the Canadian Residency Matching Service (CaRMS). Application to the the program can be found by visiting the CaRMS website at www.carms.ca, or by clicking on the streams linked below.

Final year medical school students interested in Family Medicine residency training in Northern Ontario, are encouraged to apply to all of our streams (North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Timmins, Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Remote First Nations and the Northern Ontario Rural stream) through CaRMS.

NOSM Family Medicine PGY3 Programs

PGY3 Emergency Medicine

Interested candidates can apply to NOSM's PGY3 Family Medicine Emergency Medicine program during their second year of family medicine training, and application to the program must be submitted through the Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS). 

2017 Program Descriptions Available: August 10, 2017 (12:00 p.m. ET)

Application Opening Date / Program Selection: September 6, 2017 (12:00 p.m. ET)

Application Closing Date: September 20, 2017 (12:00 p.m. ET)

Interview Offers: By October 10, 2017   

Interview dates: TBD in Thunder Bay and Sudbury 

Ranking period: November 9, 2017 (12:00 p.m. ET) to November 30, 2017 (3:00 p.m. ET)

Match Results: December 14, 2017

Program Start Date: July 1, 2018

PGY3 Family Practice Anesthesia and Enhanced Skills Programs

Application to NOSM’s PGY3 Family Practice Anesthesia and Enhanced Skills programs can be submitted through the Postgraduate Office using the program-specific application forms that are available for download. Please be sure to review all application requirements as outlined under the "Application Process" section in each program description linked below. 

Application opening date: August 21, 2017

Application closing date: October 6, 2017

Interview period: October 9 to December 6, 2017

Offer letters: December 7, 2017

Resident Responds By: December 15, 2017
