NOSMSS Executive Group - 2010-2011
The Northern Ontario School of Medicine Student Society is led by a hard-working group of executives that aims to represent students and improve student life. They act on behalf of NOSM students before the school administration, through external organizations, and in the on-campus communities.

President - Zachary Veitch
The President has the responsibility to strengthen the links to students, enhance the well-being of students, and ensure that student issues have a strong representation in planning and decision making. The President liaises with all levels of the NOSM administration, including the Associate Dean, Vice Deans and the Founding Dean, on all student related issues. The president is also the official spokesperson for, and acts on behalf of, the NOSMSS.

The Past President acts in an advisory role for the Executive Group and ensure continuity of the group.

Vice President Executive - Vanessa Ellies
The VP Executive is responsible for the executive functions of the student society. The main responsibilities of the VP Executive are to coordinate the executive elections, the subcommittee representative elections, and to ensure that each faculty and administrative committee has adequate representation by a member of the student society.

Vice President of External Communications Sr. - Allison Sweeney
The VP of External Communications acts a liaison with other VP of External Communication representatives from other medical schools, universities and/or organizations. He/She is also to represent the NOSMSS on the Ontario Medical Student Association (OMSA) and the Canadian Federation of Medical Students (CFMS).

The VPs of Education have a very important role in receiving and compiling student feedback regarding curriculum. They are responsible for coordinating efforts towards an effective, supportive, and collaborative student academic experience. These efforts will ensure that the curriculum and extra-curricular academic activities are reflective of a world class medical program from which all students benefit.

Vice President of Internal Communications - Liane Villano
The VP of Internal Communications is vital to ensuring the all members of the student body are informed of the current issues being addressed by the student society executive. Having two campuses separated by over 1000 km the VP of Internal Communications has a unique role to ensure that the two campuses are united.

Vice President of Finance - Arianne St. Jacques
The main role of the VP Finance is to guide the development of the NOSMSS budget and to maintain the NOSMSS financial records. He/She is also responsible as a member of the executive to ensure that student issues are well represented by the executive and student body by acting as a strong voice for the students.

Global Health Liaison Sr. - Amanda Moore
The main function of the GHL is to provide pre-departure training for students leaving on international electives and to interact with CFMS and OMSA with regards to global health issues. He/She is also responsible as a member of the executive to ensure that student issues with regards to global health are well represented by the executive and student body by acting as a strong voice for the students.

Class Representatives
The class representatives function to ensure that issues pertaining to particular stages of the medical education are adequately addressed. This is accomplished by communicating student concerns to the student society executive, the NOSM administration and by facilitating the passage of information back to the students. They are also vital in maintaining a positive student life environment by working with the student society executive to suggest and organize student functions outside of the structured learning environment.
