Student Assessment and Program Evaluation
The MD program uses a range of assessment modalities including
multiple choice and written exams, OSCEs, project work, preceptor observation
and encounter logging. The
five Theme committees are responsible for developing questions and other
assessments throughout the 4-year program alongside the three Phase committees.
The Student Assessment and Promotion Committee (SAPC)
is responsible for the development and implementation of student assessment
regulations, policies, and procedures and student promotion and appeals
There is substantial and ongoing program evaluation throughout the
MD program overseen by the Office of Program Evaluation and the Program
Evaluation Committee. The Office of Program Evaluation gathers feedback from
students, faculty, and community leaders and physicians on many aspects of the
MD program. Program Evaluation reports are sent to all Theme/Course Chairs, Phase
Coordinators, Directors, and Associate Deans.
