Admissions - PGY3 Emergency Medicine

PGY3 Emergency Medicine residency training is offered to Family Medicine residents seeking additional specialty skills by the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. Application Process

Please be advised that the Northern Ontario School of Medicine participates in the Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS) Family Medicine/Emergency Medicine Match (FM/EM), and those who wish to apply to the PGY3 Emergency Medicine program are required to apply/participate in the CaRMS FM/EM Match.

Program descriptions are published on the CaRMS Online at www.carms.ca.

September 15, 2015
The selection process begins. Applicants are now able to start choosing which programs they wish to apply to and can begin submitting any requested/supporting documents.

September 29, 2015
Applications must be submitted no later than 12:00 p.m. (noon) ET. The program will begin to review applicant files on this date and any applications submitted after this deadline will NOT be considered by the program.

October 9, 2015
Any supporting documents that arrive after file review has opened on September 29 will be accepted until October 9, 2015.

October 17, 2015
Invitations to interview will be sent out by this date. Please be advised that the program will only notify applicants who are selected for an interview. 

November 16, 2015 - Sudbury  |  November 19, 2015 - Thunder Bay
Interviews will be offered in Sudbury and Thunder Bay on a first come first served basis (applicants need only participate in one interview). Please note that the site of the interview does not influence your preferred site for residency position.

December 7, 2015
The ranking period will take place from November 17 (12:00 p.m. noon ET) - December 7, 2015 (3:00 p.m. ET). All applicants must submit their rank order list by this firm deadline.

December 17, 2015
Match results for the 2016 FM/EM match will be made available through CaRMS Online.
