At the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM), research is recognized as a critical component of medical education. NOSM's research initiatives are reflective of the School's mandate to be socially accountable to the diverse cultures of Northern Ontario. The School's unique program targets areas that have a direct relevance to Northern populations.
The School is committed to academic freedom and research integrity and a major thrust of NOSM faculty time is dedicated to research. Opportunities for participation in research are available for individuals at all levels of education and professional development including undergraduate, postgraduate, and health-care professionals interested in biomedical and health sciences.
The School's two state-of-the-art research labs, one at its East Campus at Laurentian University in Sudbury, and one at its West Campus at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, create the ideal foundation for conducting research.
The School works in partnership with universities, private sector organizations, and health centres to facilitate research initiatives.
